Lucky the duckling.

Lucky the duckling.
Washed down the sluice, washed through the wheel, and then washed down stream. The only survivor out of 13 ducklings. The Nafferton parish council should hang their heads in shame. He is still with me, and runs round the garden like he owns the place.

Two of his dead siblings. Dead from neglect of the Nafferton parish council.

The two mallards below I rescued from being washed down stream after going down the sluice.
6 ducklings went down, but only these two survived going through the wheel.

Growing up fast

The picture below is where I took them when they were big enough to go it on their own. Our mere is so badly managed, and full of sewerage, it's not a good place to put the ducks on.
I take all rescued mallards to the river.
Loads of natural food about for them, and people do visit this area, and the shop sells duck pellets.
There are a lot of my babies on here.

The post the chair of Nafferton parish council put on face book.
They knew what they had done, and they just don't care care.
